RAINOUTS/INCLEMENT WEATHER
IF A RAINOUT OCCURS PRIOR TO COMPLETION OF 3RD ROUND RAINCHECKS WILL BE AVAILABLE, AND THE RACE WILL BE RESCHEDULED. IF THE RACE IS CALLED DUE TO RAIN OR WEATHER AFTER COMPLETION OF 3RD ROUND, THE RACE WILL BE CONSIDERED COMPLETE, THE PURSE WILL BE DIVIDED AMONG THE REMAINING COMPETITORS, AND POINTS WILL BE AWARDED BASED ON PROGRESS TO THAT POINT.
POINTS
Racers competing in Wilkesboro Dragway’s Bracket Series will be awarded points as follows:
Points Sign Up - $10 = 10 Points (Awarded 1 Time)
Entry – 10 Points **Racers must make it to the starting line and break the beams in eliminations to earn entry points, there is no charge for this. If a racer does not make first round and buys back into second round, they will be awarded entry points as long as they break the beams in second round. Racers who receive a break pass or who do not enter eliminations will not be given points for entry.
Each Round Win – 2 Points
This includes wins after a buyback
WINNER - 5 Points
Points are awarded based on the driver’s number provided on the tech card. Points are not transferrable for any reason. In the case of double entries, points will only be awarded to the driver’s primary entry (not the second/double number). For example, if John Doe enters the race using AB12 and AB12X, only the AB12 entry will receive points for the race.
In the event of breakage, a racer IS PERMITTED TO SWITCH cars prior to first round of eliminations. If the car enters eliminations and subsequently breaks, the racer is eliminated. They MAY NOT switch cars to continue.
USE OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES
· DRUG USE IS NOT PERMITTED AT ANY POINT ANYWHERE ON THE PREMISES.
· DRIVERS ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED FROM CONSUMING/USING ALCOHOL OR ANY CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE.
· IF A WILKESBORO DRAGWAY STAFF MEMBER OBSERVES CONSUMPTION OR USE, THE FOLLOWING STIPULATIONS APPLY:
FIRST OFFENSE: DISQUALIFICATION AND BANNED FROM COMPETING FOR THE EVENT/DAY.
SECOND OFFENSE: DISQUALIFICATION AND BANNED FROM COMPETING FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE SEASON.
NOTE: ANY DRIVER INVOLVED IN A WRECK AS A RESULT OF USE OR CONSUMPTION WILL BE BANNED FOR THE SEASON
WILKESBORO DRAGWAY IS COMMITTED TO A ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY ON THIS MATTER, NO EXCEPTIONS, NO ARGUMENTS.
GENERAL RULES
TECH CARDS MUST BE FULLY COMPLETED FOR VALID ENTRY.
QUALIFYING
UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED, ALL ENTRIES WILL BE GIVEN TWO TIME RUNS. THERE WILL BE ONE REGULAR TIME RUN AND A DASH FOR CASH RUN. RACERS CHOOSING TO NOT PARTICIPATE IN DASH FOR CASH WILL BE GIVEN A SECOND REGULAR TIME RUN.
DASH FOR CASH
$10.00, PAID IN THE STAGING LANES. RACER CLOSEST TO THE DIAL IN WITHOUT A RED LIGHT OR BREAKOUT WINS 50% OF THE DASH FOR CASH ENTRY FEES AND RECEIVES FIRST ROUND BYE RUN. IN THE EVENT OF A TIE, BEST PACKAGE WINS.
BYE RUNS
BYE RUNS IN FIRST ROUND ARE AWARDED BASED ON DASH FOR CASH WINNER. FIRST ROUND BYE WILL CARRY OVER UNTIL THE RACER RECEIVES THEIR BYE RUN OR LOSES.
BYE RUNS IN REMAINING ROUNDS WILL BE AWARDED BY BEST REACTION TIME FROM PREVIOUS RUN. TIES ARE AWARDED BY BEST PACKAGE.
CAR NUMBER/DIAL IN
CAR NUMBER AND DIAL-IN MUST BE CLEARLY DISPLAYED ON PASSENGER SIDE WINDSHIELD AND PASSENGER SIDE DOOR OR QUARTER WINDOW. ONCE CARS LEAVE STAGING LANES AND ENTER WATER BOX, DIAL-INS ARE SET.
RACERS AND/OR THEIR CREW MEMBERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR CHECKING THEIR DIAL-IN ON THE SCORE BOARD. IF THE DIAL-IN IS ENTERED INCORRECTLY, NOTIFY AN OFFICIAL PRIOR TO STAGING. ONCE THE PRESTAGE BULB IS LIT THE RACER HAS AKNOWLEDGED AND ACCEPTED YOUR DIAL-IN.
DISQUALIFICATIONS
RED LIGHT START – FIRST IS WORST POLICY. IN THE EVENT OF A RED LIGHT START, THE FIRST DRIVER TO REDLIGHT IS ELIMINATED.
CROSSING THE CENTER LINE*, HITTING THE WALL, OBVIOUS RECKLESS/NEGLIGENT DRIVING (EX: LOCKING UP THE BRAKES AT THE FINISH LINE) ARE ALL SUBJECT TO DISQUALIFICATION.
IF BOTH COMPETITORS IN A RUN COMMIT AN INFRACTION SUBJECT TO DISQUALIFICATION, BOTH RACERS WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.
*NOTE: ANY PORTION OF FRONT OR REAR TIRE MAKING CONTACT WITH CENTERLINE IS CONSIDERED A “CROSS.”
PAIRING/LANE CHOICE
DRIVERS IN ALL CLASSES WILL BE PAIRED AS THEY ENTER STAGING LANES. ONCE THE CAR PASSES THE ENTRANCE TO THE STAGING LANES (AT THE FAR END OF THE GUARDRAILS), DRIVERS ARE PROHIBITED FROM CHANGING LANES UNLESS DIRECTED TO DO SO BY A TRACK OFFICIAL OR IN THE EVENT OF LOSS OF LANE CHOICE. ASIDE FROM THE BYE RUN, WHO ALWAYS GETS LANE CHOICE, LANE CHOICE IS SELECTED BY WHO ENTERS THE LANE FIRST AS YOU ENTER THE STAGING LANES. THE RACER WITH THE BYE RUN WILL AUTOMATICALLY GET LANE CHOICE. ARGUING OVER THIS IS ABSOLUTELY NOT TOLERATED.
